RETIME at European Researchers’ Night 2026 in Žilina: Interactive quiz and digital walkthroughs

On 25 September 2026, RETIME participated in European Researchers’ Night at the Mirage Shopping Centre in Žilina, Slovakia (Európska Noc Vedy), with an engaging activity entitled Adapting Buildings to the Climate Crisis.

Building on the interactive activity organised by the ISCTE team during European Researchers’ Night 2025 in Lisbon (The Machine that Reads Emotions), UNIZA team introduced RETIME to the public through an interactive quiz in Slovak, designed for younger audiences. Participants to Európska Noc Vedy were also involved during presentations through 3D models and virtual walkthroughs of the pilot buildings scanned during RETIME activities, displayed on a large screen. The automated surveys were carried out by the TUU team in 2025 and 2026 using a 3D laser scanner purchased with EU funding through the RETIME project.

This activity at European Researchers’ Night 2026 was organised by the UNIZA team with the support of ERAdiate+ (Department of International Research Projects), KAJO, ISCTE-ISTAR, and TUU.

This event provided an excellent opportunity to engage the wider public, particularly young people, with RETIME’s work and to raise awareness of digital innovation and climate adaptation in the built environment.
