Building Renovation Passport: A Roadmap to a Greener Future

The event, hosted at the International Cultural Center, brought together leading experts in housing recovery, resilience, and climate adaptation.

Representing the RETIME consortium, ONE Team (Italy) introduced the BRP concept and shared the first user interface (UI) sketches of the digital tool currently in development. As part of RETIME’s mission to support climate-resilient and energy-efficient urban transformation, the BRP will serve as a digital platform guiding building owners, managers, and local authorities through a step-by-step renovation roadmap.

A Digital Roadmap for a Resilient Built Environment

The BRP is designed to help users:

• Evaluate cost–benefit strategies for renovation and retrofitting.
• Adopt a Building-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, shifting focus from ownership to performance, comfort, and sustainability.
• Identify measures that increase resilience to climate-related and seismic risks.
• Access tailored renovation scenarios that boost energy efficiency, reduce energy poverty, and improve indoor environmental quality.

The tool integrates seamlessly with RETIME’s broader digital ecosystem—including a Digital Building Twin, sensor-based alert system, and Resilience Knowledge Hub—supporting data-driven decision-making for cities and communities.

Contributing to the Global Dialogue on Resilient Housing

ONE Team also contributed to the Summit’s Roundtable on International Perspectives on Environmental Hazards, Disasters, and Housing, alongside experts from Europe and North America. The discussion highlighted how digital tools such as the BRP can bridge gaps between disaster resilience, affordability, and long-term sustainability in the housing sector.

The RETIME consortium’s presence underscored its commitment to driving research-based, people-centered solutions for futureproofing buildings and urban areas.
