The EU-funded project RETIME – Urban Adaptation and Alert Solutions for a TIMEly (re)Action – focuses on enhancing urban resilience and preparedness in the face of climate-related risks and natural hazards, such as storms, flash floods, heat and cold waves. By developing and testing innovative adaptation solutions and services, we aim to support cities and vulnerable communities in the context of a changing climate.
Launched one year ago, RETIME brings together 18 partners from eight countries, including research institutions, SMEs, public authorities, and NGOs. Together, we are working to improve building resilience, increase awareness, and propose adaptations to site-specific emergency protocols in three pilot cities: Lisbon (Portugal), Žilina (Slovakia), and Tartu (Estonia).
The first months of the project have been crucial in setting the groundwork, establishing key methodological frameworks, stakeholder profiles, and engaging local key stakeholders. During the first year of the project, we held focus groups within and visit the three pilot sites, as well as workshops with RETIME Beneficiaries to design a comprehensive multi-actor engagement strategy and social innovation roadmap.
