Empowering Cities: Project Coordinator Catarina Ferreira da Silva introduces RETIME’s mission

How can cities better prepare for natural and human-caused disasters? In a new video, RETIME project coordinator Catarina Ferreira da Silva from ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon explains how this European-funded project is developing innovative solutions to protect vulnerable communities.

RETIME brings together 18 partners across Europe to create urban adaptation strategies that help decision-makers and civil protection authorities respond effectively to climate hazards. The project focuses on alert systems, evacuation support, and energy-efficient solutions to reduce environmental impact while improving safety and comfort.

With a duration of four years (until 2028), RETIME aims to provide technological tools and community-driven solutions to enhance disaster preparedness. Watch the full video to learn more about the project’s mission and expected outcomes.
